TDI 2013 Jetta. Mar 19, 2013. #2. I had this very same problem in my 2000-ALH-Jetta. Very rough at stop lights and touching the throttle stopped it. Everything else was fine for me (cruising, etc.). I checked the timing with VCDS and it was fine (a little advanced). So I checked the IQ at idle and noticed I was around 1.4mg/R. (normal is 3-5). Replacethe oil feed line along with the turbo to ensure long-term reliability! Alittle history here: there was a rash of members trying different gear oils, largely in response to the phase out of G50 in favor of a much thinner gear oil. This switch kind of corresponded to VW recommending very thin motor oils (—0W-30 in at least one case!) for a turbodiesel engine, which were pretty clearly thinner than
Heres a tidbit for anyone else out there the likes to over-engineer their projects and work out all the details: Dry weight of a 1.9 TDI (AHF) with AC and DMF (but no clutch) according to my digital scale is 361 lbs. See pic

The Amsoil MTG 75w-90 (Manual Transmission/Transaxle Gear oil) says GLS-4 on the label, the 80w-90 Gearbox Oil is a GL-5 and not recommended.
