Like the knock sensor. If it goes bad as mine did, you can't replace it cause I haven't found one available. Got the part number but no luck. Plus a piece of pipe from the egr valve to the intake Costs about $100, if you can find it. Egr valve itself is close to $100 give or take depending where you get it. So there are ways to over come the Getting rid of the EGR may make it run better in the short term, but doing proper maintenance is by far less costly to the environment. Rather than deleting an EGR valve we need to consider some facts. Reduced Wear and Tear. Cold engines have greater engine wear and it is exacerbated by EGR delete because of slower warm-up time.
They would have to do a visual and know what to look for. You can reverse it, but you'd need an EGR cooler and possibly the section of the up pipe that ties into the EGR cooler if that part was replaced with a pipe without the take off for the cooler. Some deletes also repalce the cover on the OC housing that has the nipple for the cooler, so
The proper way is to hook it back up. Whether it is required where you live or not, the vehicle was designed to have one. But if you aren't going to run with an EGR, the proper way to delete it is to use a tuner to turn it off. Bama, Superchips, Hypertech, etc. have the ability to change many parameters in the system, including to ignore

Please guys I’m not looking for comments of shouldn’t have got a 6.0 or egr delete is bad for the environment blah blah blah. I’m doing an egr delete on my 6.0 power stroke. I need a tuner and somebody that will sell the right tune that will run the egr delete and not give me a check engine light. The bad thing about this EGR cooler on the BEW is that it is equipped with a solenoid activated bypass valve which blocks the exhaust from entering the cooler when the engine is cold. This is the most critical time for cabin heat, but this bypass function can be eliminated I think by rerouting the vacuum hose that connects to it. The only way to eliminate the EGR without spending money is to cut out a piece of metal to go over the hole that will be made when the valve is taken out. You could take off the EGR spacer to get rid of it, but if you did, you'd have no provision to bolt the throttle cable bracket ISKs.
