The brake light fuse had blown and once replaced, the car started. Apparently the starter doesn’t recognise your foot on the brake pedal so won’t re-start. However, the issue has happened again. again, replaced fuse and car started and driveable but asc system service required message came on again. Can’t get to the bottom of why the fuse

Use the instruction manual if you are having difficulties locating it. Now, undo the negative wire from the battery. Give the truck some time to cool down. Keep the negative wire unattached for an hour or so. Then, connect it again and try turning on the engine. This should clear the 4WD service light. you will need a factory scanner or equivalent to run a diagnostic scan & retrieve fault codes from ASC system and see what is causing it . i m not ware of a problem with system on a 2011 outlander, not saying it want happen but testing will be required if the asc light stays on and brakes are still stiff or feels not functional .
